About

Julianne Lerdalen is a Norwegian interdisciplinary artist whose practice moves across painting, ceramics, steel and concrete sculpture, textile, embroidery and digital media. Across these varied forms, imperfect circular structures recur as a personal visual language, symbolizing the ways people surround one another through connection, family, safety, and care.

In her non-figurative paintings, Lerdalen combines expressive movement, layered color, and loosely constructed forms to create works that feel both energetic and introspective. For her, making art functions as a sanctuary-space where thought gives way to instinct and creativity becomes a necessary form of emotional release.

Lerdalen is worth watching for the consistency of her ideas across multiple mediums and for the way she balances playfulness with psychological depth, transforming themes of belonging and human connection into a vibrant and increasingly recognizable contemporary language.
